Ever since it debuted in July, Pokemon Go has been taking the world by storm, and New York is no different. Here are some great New York City spots to catch ‘em all:
Bryant Park is a great spot. First of all, there’s a gym right at the Bryant Park Fountain so there’s that. The park always has a couple of lures since it’s such a populated place, and when you run out of pokeballs you can just take a lap around the lawn and hit one of the many pokestops. As for the pokemons, the park is filled with Clefairies, Growlithes and Mankeys.
Now Times Square might sound like a bad idea, I mean no sane New Yorker would voluntarily venture in to this tourist hub, but for pokemoning it isn’t bad. You might have a hard time getting reception due to the amount of people right on Times Square, but the surrounding area is filled with Pokestops. Apparently this giant neon craze attracts the electric pokemons. You could always hope for a Pikachu, but at least know that you can barely walk to feet without a Voltorb or Electrode to catch.
Brooklyn Borough Hall
Although it’s a pretty serious municipal building, Borough Hall is a pretty popular space to catch Pokemon. There’s a gym right outside of it and the park surrounding it is loaded with Pokespots. This too is a very crowded area so you can always be sure to find a couple of lures in the area.
Brooklyn Bridge Park
This waterfront is a must go-to to for any Pokemon Go player. There are a lot of gyms, Pokemon and opportunities to spot other players at this park. Since it’s by the water you can be sure to find Golducks and Magicarps (keep collecting – one day you’ll get that Gyrados).
