Silva is one of the artists that are part of the platform coGalleries, that offers a unique contact with the world of art, and connects the aficionados and potential buyers directly with the artist. Consequently, a bond between them is instantly generated.
A studio is the intimate space where the artist translates his feelings into his work, and opening the doors to these places, so intimate, personal and heartfelt, automatically generates a special connection.
Therefore, coGalleries aims to connect, to get the people to live the art on a different way, not as mere spectators but also as protagonists. When you are able to interact with the artist, face to face and see how he work, dialogue is generated and you become another protagonist on the scene. The artist, of course, is always the “belle of the ball” but bringing him closer to those interested, changes completely the experience: both parts feel at home, and there is a seamless relationship between them that makes them feel comfortable and closer.
Back to Carlos Silva’s opening, as soon as you stepped foot into the studio you could feel the amicable and very relaxed atmosphere – quite the opposite as the feeling you usually get at other art events. There is no deification of the artist: he was all over the place as the invitees, sharing his thoughts, greeting everyone. The organizers, coGalleries were also present and completely dedicated to ensuring that the guests are having a good time, and of course, that the Prosecco kept on flowing- it is the art world after all, and there is no event without bubbles!
Illuminated by cold white light, the studio is anything but ordinary: the proliferation of colorful paintings, there for you to touch, feel and look at closely, surrounds the guests with lively hues combined in differently structured compositions, reminiscent of modern architectural lines, as Silva has studied both Fine Arts and Architecture in Colombia, where he was born and raised. The beauty of the works is evident: the study of the colors and lines, and the harmony within them that every painting features, makes Carlos Silva’s works a true feast for the eyes, bringing immediate joy through the vibrant polychromy. Latin-American vibes are ever present on both his works, his persona, and now the guests that visited the studio opening. The result of the event? An offbeat evening in the city that thankfully contrasted the gray Berliner autumn day.
coGalleries is an artist-first platform driven to empower professional artists by bringing the audience into the artist’s workspace. Based on the idea that meeting the artist in person creates a meaningful connection to each art piece, coGalleries opens the door to where art lives – in the studios and in the hands of the artists who create them.
